Abstract |
Processing properties of a new generation LLDPE film grade from the BORSTAR process is presented and discussed together with rheological data. The BORSTAR process produces a polymer with bimodal molecular weigth distribution. The reological properties of these polymer show that the bimodal LLDPE have the melt strength of LDPE and the drawdown properties of HD and conventional LLD. Compared with conventional LLD the Borstar LLD has better processability due to higher shear thinning and better bubble stability due to high melt strength. |
