Abstract |
Solid state rheometry provides valuable information on the kinetics of deformation mechanisms. Measurements of this kind may be a part of fundamental studies, or they can be applied directly when evaluating materials and processes in the design and optimalization of commercial products. Creep and relaxation curves (and their derivatives) are characteristic 'fingerprints', which in some cases are dominated by material parameters, and in some other cases by processing conditions. Two topics will be dealt with in this presentation: Creep and recovery of PE films and stress relaxation of PP fibres. |
