Project call: Horizon 2020-BBI-JTI-2018
Research programme: Horizon 2020
- MANDALA aims to develop sustainable solutions for food and pharma packaging products by the development of innovative functional adhesives.
- Objective no. 1 is to demonstrate the feasibility of circular economy for multilayer packaging by validating 4 end-of-life scenarios.
- Objective no. 2 is to validate MANDALA packaging prototypes into the food and pharma sector by contributing to the creation of a new circular value chain.
Partners from the whole value chain, from plastic and packaging manufacturer to end users will together with the research institutes and technology developers make sure that the objectives will be met. More information can be found on the Madala web page.
Norner Research will contribute in several WP’s by its expertise in barrier packaging materials. Norner Research will perform characterization and testing of the products as well as using its highly advanced barrier calculator (https://barrier.norner.no/) and simulation tools in order to develop and design the optimal packaging formats and structures.
Project consortium includes 12 European partners:
Fundacion AITIIP (Coordinator)
The Spanish National research Council – The institute of Polymer Science and Technology (CSIC-ICTP)
